01/27/2014 Austrian Safety and Convenience for Visitors to Sochi
Since December, 2013, visitors to Sochi arriving by air taking the airport express train link reach the platforms via convenient speed gates made by Gotschlich. For the company specialising in access control gates, based in Vienna, Austria, this is the fifth terminal of an airport express train service in Russia.
The rail connection between the airport and the line running along the coast to Sochi already opened in February, 2012. 60 percent of airline passengers are expected to use this train link to get from the airport to the Black Sea resort and to the sites of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The access control installation was implemented in collaboration with an experienced Russian IT partner with a focus on security solutions. It has eight lanes for bi-directional traffic, featuring SELECTION-DF speed gates, each with a lane width of 900 mm as well as a 1,200 mm special lane for transport vehicles. Featuring thermal insulation and integrated heaters, the Gotschlich sensor gates remain operational even in temperatures as low as -40 °C and combine reliable tailgating prevention at high throughput with extraordinary user convenience.
Axel Wälde, Gotschlich export sales director: “We are delighted about this installation in Russia, particularly because this is a kind of real-life showroom for us as well.“
